SUMMER DAY RETREAT BY THE OCEAN
Hosted by Yoga in the Workplace and Alexander Technique Atlantic
The Alexander Technique has been described as “learning how to learn”. In order to learn how to learn you need to “think in activity”. In order to think in activity you need to be able to register what you are doing and how you are doing it. In order to do this you rely on your sensory systems which we commonly perceive as our feelings or sensations. The Alexander Technique the iPAC way is a tool to help you re-educate your sensory system so that it works more reliably and gives you conscious control over the organization of your feelings and sensations in your activity.
Organizing yourself in a well co-ordinated way requires a practical understanding of your Primary Co-ordinating Pattern. The organization of yourself into your asanas/postures requires a deep understanding of your Primary Co-ordinating Pattern so that your asanas/postures are generated from the integrity of this pattern. By learning more about it you can change your fundamental pattern of co-ordination and take control over a major influence on your health, well-being and performance. Improvements accrue over time and the changes can be dramatic.
